I wish him well. He has a lot of complex problems to deal with.

Terrific post, Sam.

Isn't it weird when we don't just have a real politician to deal with, his actions, words and policies and appointments and such, we are also supposed to lug around an ideological construct spun from fragments and innuendos who must then be analyzed and defended in front of people who constructed him purely as a target for all the mud they need to sling at someone? And an entire political movement has reacted to its gross loss of power and influence by diving into the fantasy world and backstroking through the pool of bizarre trivia 24/7?

The whole thing is so surreal now, I can hear Grace Slick in the background crooning about chasing rabbits, LOL. Thank goodness that's not how real elections are won.

Sam - Would you sit in Wright's church and listen to those sermons? I certainly wouldn't. If anyone started ranting like that fool, I would walk out of the place and go to a church around the corner. To compare the crazy rantings of Wright, to a disagreement with Catholic church doctrine is ridiculous. One is about as far from the other as can exist.

I visited my inlaws and went to their Catholic church today. It's a quiet respectful place, where they say things like peace to all, love and forgiveness for everyone. Completely opposite the ugly rantings of a lunatic like Wright.

There's a reason Obama tossed Wright over the side and ended their relationship. And I doubt it had much to do with his cerebral connection to opposing views. Wright was a political liability for Obama, so he did what he had to, in order to get elected.

I also assume the views he shares in private are more radical and crazy, than the ones he's willing to share in public and on camera.

You have seen clips of a few of Wright's rants over 20 years. You know next to nothing about the person himself, other than a few controversial sermons he gave, know nothing of what he actually did over that time, what he said and how he acted when he wasn't performing at the church. Or, for that matter, even the context in which those rants took place. You don't even really know what Obama's real relationship to Wright was.

You "assume" what you want to assume. My assumption is that your assumption bears little relation to the truth.

This can be applied to your post also, unless of course, you are a member of Wright's church.........

How ya looking in that mirror?
