I agree though we should be on guard. And that's what republicans are worried about - and for that they were labeled as "crazy" by Krugman. It is not realistic that we stand by and do nothing while these people suffer. Mary! nobody is suggesting we do nothing. Nobody. Yes people go into debt to get out of debt. And that is what happened to America. People kept borrowing endlessly as if there was no tomorrow. That didn't work so well did it? What makes you think at the national scale it will be different?
