2050 would give time for new technologies to evolve. Hydrocarbons would be very expensive by then so the market should drive replacements in a natural manner.

Unfortunately we have fools in Washington like Waxman who cannot wait for 2050 to exert their power.

My point is simple - only a train wreck will achieve major reductions by 2020. Obama is on course for a wreck. He is either uninformed (ie stupid), of evil intent or delusional.

If I were to be charitable I would say he is staking out very aggressive positions from he can compromise and achieve what he really wants. I do not think he is stupid. I do not think he is deliberately of evil intent. I do believe he may be delusional on the subject in that he has been so immersed in the looney left that he has come to believe it all.

Let's see what happens with GM and Chrysler to see if he ever walks the talk on all his talk of sacrifice by all - not just the top 2% of tax payers.
