I suspect it may not be impossible for big chunks of Asia to "decouple" from the Old (and New) worlds, and to do well. After all, the West was able to reach great levels of prosperity while the East, for the most part, stayed behind. Who knows, if Peak Oil kicks in for real, in the future economies may once again become more regional. But all this is pure speculation.

As far as India declining in 3 vs. 5 waves, with all due respect this analyst seems to forget that 5th waves often "fail". Could still be a five waver.... this guy is overplaying his hand. Or, as you say, even as a "three" it may still be just the first leg of something much larger.

Speaking of 200DSMA, I have a friend who has a (costly) liking for preferred financials (PFO), and sometimes he will ask me what I think about the chart. Clearly, PFO did very poorly over the past couple of years since it first broke under that average in late May of 2007, bouncing off down on several occasions. At this time it is within a few percentage points from testing it again. There may be an indicator in there somewhere.
