If Cuba is ready to deal, there might be the growth story of the next two decades sitting there. Imagine the vacation spots that are just waiting to be developed there. Not to mention the fact that oil could be sitting off the coast in great volumes. IF and only IF Cuba is ready to wake up and accept a different type of economy than a state-controlled one.

Cuba will need an enormous amount of infrastructure spending to bring most of the country up to late 20th century standards which will probably result in massive corruption (Iraq without the US military presence and the religious strife). While its military isn't what it once was, a lot of weaponry will "disappear" and there will be a lot of disgruntled members of the former military.

Decades of resentment against the US government/business interests won't disappear overnight.

La Guerrilla worked once, who's to say it won't work again

Cubana Flight 455 was a Cubana flight from Barbados to Jamaica that was brought down by a terrorist attack on October 6, 1976. All 73 people on board the Douglas DC-8 aircraft were killed in what was then the most deadly terrorist airline attack in the Western hemisphere.

Probably best to use a Canadian or Mexican airline to fly into Havana International, and stay in Canadian hotels ... American owned interests will be more likely to go "boom."
