<So when I posted the same claim before you told me I was dreaming:>

You are and were... it's still a "so"? Who cares? Why is that relevant? it's certainly a positive in my life... but I'm not going to try and judge it on a global scale like you seem to think is possible. What's you point? You keep coming out with these little statements that are irrelevant?

<< So that means

As a matter of fact, it seems that is the case {{that the Church HASNT perpetrated all sorts of attacks on the advancement of knowlege throughout history}}. And belief to the contrary seems to be a myth developed by a number of fraudulent (now debunked) historians more than a century ago.

The main support for the premise you state would be Galileo's imprisonment. It seems that was more of an anomaly than the normal state of affairs. See the past posts linking to wikipedia and to historian James Hannam's site.>>

Again... I don't understand why you don't just drop it...

I don't mean to be rude or mean, but you just don't have a clue as to the history of the Catholic Church... read a bit on the reformation OR SOMETHING will YOU? Jeeez, and you wonder why statements like "religion is a positive force" from someone like you rings so hollow!?

You're right about Galileo though... he was an anomoly they didn't burn him at the stake! -ggg-

I'm afraid to say I have to put you on ignore now... when I see the crazy guy out in front of the shelter down town speaking crazyness and looking dangerous I walk to the other side of the street. It's time to cross the street.

good luck to you.
