C2, as you explained to me regarding Qualcomm's legal fees, we have to pay seriously large amounts of money to get "top" legal advice, which is not the same as good legal advice = you might recall me advising AGAINST the idea of the "no downside" lawsuit as being a casual abuse of the legal process likely to end in tears and recriminations. Sure enough, Qualcomm paid hundreds of $millions for the legal advice I was willing to give, and did, for no charge, then, when the case they threw against the wall to see if it would stick slid off, the judge then threw Qualcomm and the lawyers against the wall and they stuck.

Similarly, the USA has the best politicians that money can buy, bar none! That means seriously large payments. Cheapskates like me think that politicians might be better as unpaid volunteers such as maybe Irwin Jacobs in his dotage being asked to be a senior sage in the senate.
