I wouldn't say "no problem." The Donner Crew won't get it too bad if they drill till late December. The Nain temp. is a good indicator for Labrador weather (thats where most of the helicopter activity is based). Winter drilling can obviously be done, but it is expensive, dangereous and alot harder on the field team. I talked to a geologist in the field last winter and it was definately wearing on the crew. The main problem is the water freezing. Drills need water to operate, sources of water freeze up, and the ice spreads dangerously around the drill. They usually use deep lakes or ponds as sources, but the farther away from the source, the more likely the line to the drill will freeze. If a driller gets injuried the company has to pay out big time (for unsafe working conditions). It is not an easy job. I'm sure Donner will get all their drilling done, just don't expect them to be pulling core as fast as they were in the fall.

cheers,

Kent
