Eventually. But it could have been a year or 50 years. No way to know how long it would take unless you do something yourself to make it happen.

The biggest mistake was disbanding the military. That put a lot of guys with weapons and training on the streets with no jobs.

The Republican Guard probably should have been disbanded, at least the smaller "Special Republican Guard", even though that also put men with weapons and training on the street. But the regular army perhaps not. I don't think its as simple and clear cut as you seem to think, but on the balance I agree it was a mistake.

Now the Shiites are the abusers and murderers

Not particularly, not on anywhere near the scale of Saddam.
