(it's most often just a shorthand way of referring to the variety of 'democracy' with which folks have personal experience). Or you could ascribe it to a lack of proper education in civics and philosophy and the history of mankind. :-) Still... I don't think I caught your answer to my question: You equate an ancient concept of governance - dating to Greece pre Christian Era - to 'Socialism'? Why? What does "Democracy" have to do with "Socialism"? Was your answer: "Very little."? (If so - if you don't believe it - then why did you make the statement?)
