neolib, i no greenspan is *relatively* anti regulation, but there was never no regulation, just a level of regulation that they deemed "intelligent."

of course, there was a huge conflict of interest that skewed their definition of "intelligent."

as for the government running healthcare, need i say more than katrina or iraq or fannie and freddie? or the bank bailout reverse robin hood scam?

the government is truly awful.

the problem is that corporate america is truly awful, too.

health care is rising 2x inflation - that's not sustainable.

in addition, private health care providers are quick to find any reason to disqualify people who paid when an expensive condition arises.

iow, both systems will fail in the end.
