You do not see nuclear war as something that could end life on earth? Sure.. Just as I see a massive coronal mass ejection or a massive meteor strike causing the same result. How much money is being spent by the Obama administration on those issues? But most likely someone will survive, if only because there's little mixing of the atmosphere between the hemispheres at the equator. We've lived under the threat of nuclear holocaust for over 50 years now and we're still around. They kill us, we kill them.. no one wins so it's a game not to be played. The role nuclear weapons play is as a safeguard of national existence. No nation possessing a strong nuclear deterrent need fear being invaded and/or conquered. It's the very reason that Israel possesses them (in theory.. ;0) and the Arabs don't. They know they have nothing to fear from the Jews. Hawk
