They'd have to use pastured beef in the test to be sure that they were isolating the beef variable.

There certainly is a lot of "don't eat industrialized meat" sentiment out there. "Avoid meat fattened on corn."

It's too chewy for me!

Lane,

Another comment I saw recently was from the pastured crowd, which is that we don't know whether any conclusions about meat are about the meat, itself, or the impact of industrializing meat. They'd have to use pastured beef in the test to be sure that they were isolating the beef variable.

I seriously doubt that any let alone a significant number of participants in that study were eating pastured beef.

This would be an interesting study. <g>

People who go out of their way to shop for and consume pastured meat is a self selected group of probably 1% of total population, that does 10s of other things to maintain and improve their health.

A brain dead researcher combined with brain dead journalist (Jane Brody) could conclude that eating pastured meat adds 10 years to your life.

Well not really, it 10s of other things these people do that may extend their life, but we are not talking science here (neither is Jane Brody, nor is 90% of gebberish published as scientific studies).
