Hello. Is there anyone out there surviving the nuclear holocaust?
It has been a terrible day. For those who have losed alot of money like me, don't feel so bad. It is only money. You still have your family and they still love you. The market will come back. It always has been. For those who get margin calls, this is a very good lesson for you. I've been through those many time. Next time be more conservative and not so bullish. For those who made alot of money on betting it going down, congratulation. Just cash in and enjoy. The next crash will be a few years away.

There is a moral to this story. Whether it is the church of AMD or Intel we all are here to make money. Discussing intelligently and learn from each other will help both parties beating the odds. Bashing each other is a waste of time.

Good luck. For those with cash on hand, it is a good time to go shopping. AMD at 21 is very tempting.

John Petzinger, The trading circut breakers were designed to give the little guy time to think..One day drops of this magnitude in the indexes 5%NYSE-7%Nasdaq have only happpened twice in recent history, during the crash of 87 and today. In theory they are supposed to give you an oppertunity to say AMD @ 21 is a bargain. Last time AMD was at 21 the had a banged up k-5,no customers and the promiss of the k-6. Now AMD has a reasonable K-6 with some dents that could be fixed(yields), a cadray of customers, the promise of a 300mhz offering, the promise of the k-7, a promise of a an advanced game chip, an almost completed new Flash plant in Japan. And the promise of a new state of the art Fab in germany, all offered for the paultry sum of @ 21 bucks. Surely you can see the bargain. Hay by Dec 31,97 we could see $15.00 bucks again.
