Your post got me thinking on a level I have not seen discussed anywhere. I wonder what will happen when the virus gets into a genetically "closed" society like Japan? We Americans are bred from just about all the peoples on the planet, so many will have immunity from most diseases. That's not the case with closed or "pure" cultures. They could be wiped out by something this virulent, even though it has a fairly small fatality rate elsewhere.

That might even help explain why Mexico City got whacked so hard while the US has had almost no deaths.

It's good to be the mongrels! :o)
