I know. The truly amusing thing is that all these (R)'s style themselves as amateur economists. Yet they totally miss this aspect. Things were so bad that some countries moved Capemax ships based on barter, something that hasn't happened in centuries. Yet, somehow, this was just a normal downturn...

Let me tell you......if the banks had closed their doors, the Rs would have screamed the loudest. Its their nature.
