If the Word of God is verbatim, which of the editions should we read and believe? The Truth is contained in the Word of God and my faith is based on my belief that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.

His kingdom is not of this world, but we are. There will be peace & serenity in His world, but there is evil in this one, which if necessary, I will choose to fight against it.

As far as the New Testament is concerned, Jesus came to fulfill the Old Testament, not replace it. God is not changing like you and me.--Peaceb2u

Jesus Christ healed the servant of a Roman soldier.

Matthew 8:5-13 (New International Version)

The Faith of the Centurion
5 When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6 "Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering."
7 Jesus said to him, "I will go and heal him."

8 The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."

10 When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, "I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! It will be done just as you believed it would." And his servant was healed at that very hour

If Jesus disapproved of military men and women he would not have performed this miracle. It was the Roman's faith and belief in Jesus that saved his servant.

I don't see that it is too complicated as long as you're willing to live within the laws.....where is the problem?

5 through 10 are pretty much standard in civilized human behavior.

1 through 4 are simple tactics designed to elicit fealty.

No more, no less.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'
TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'
THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'
FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'
FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.'
SIX: 'You shall not murder.'
SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.'
EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.'
NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'
TEN: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'
