I agree on MacC. I've had a surprising number of young (45-55) alkies go directly from my ventilator to the coroner. Despite what the neos might tell you, he never blamed me for causing the deaths. Did see a few teen brownie eaters in the ER; scared by their heart rates.

Organized crime is probably lobbying behind the scenes to keep pot illegal... and thus their profits high. (No pun intended...) One way to back into this would be for the government to sell pot directly - then the rightwingnuts would scream socialism... that the government shouldn't be doing what's better left to the private sector. Legalizing pot would greatly cut down on organized crime just as ending prohibition did.
