The whole "hard right ideology" notion is a myth being pushed by liberals who call themselves "moderate" and their opponents "extremist."

C/mon now...many GOP prominent figures have made the very same point recently...Graham and McCain among them. And the hard right smacks these folks down with nonsensical arguments about tea parties, state secession, and calls for being "armed and dangerous"...much to the delight of the folks in AL, MS and UT

Another aspect of the same left-wing myth. The truth is that over the past two years, the proportions of people calling themselves "moderate", "conservative", and "liberal" haven't changed all that much:

So the only part of my statement that may not apply is "growing" middle...the middle rules and it won't cotton much to a party lead by unhinged hard right non sense like that above.
