Even his being a SB aside, I think he stated the position as clearly and without equivication as any I've read. I wish some folks in dcland would read it. And it has some significance... the SBC is quite powerful in terms of setting tempo for the churches. And a key word in their name Southern. It takes a fair amount of wind out of the conservative support for torture idea to have them speak out so strongly. the fellow sounds downright Wesslyan Methodist.
