They are hospitalized or develop a major medical problem not die.Dementia is correlated to educational level and thus most likely correlated to brain use after retirement as well. Most of my nursing home patients, who come from the community, show a quick cognitive decline over their first two months as they have others help them with their daily activities and their new friends have a lower level of cognitive functioning. It is like a weight lifter who stops exercising and atrophies.

ElM, you earned a recommendation. Congratulations. You are expressing in another way the divide between people who want to boss other people around, take their property and be top of the pecking order in alpha male kleptocratic tribal dominance hierarchies and those who want to create their own reality.

It's an age old battle and we are doomed to continue as the dichotomy between the individual and the collective continues to wend its way through history. Democracy tends to keep the more megalomaniac in check, but as shown in Germany with the rise of the totalitarians, there democracy is not much guarantee of that.

The bosses want hordes of potted plants who are little more than sheeple in a paddock with existence at the whim of their feudal overlords. We are still living in state serfdom, albeit with a few more degrees of freedom than in outright slavery.

Bring on tradable citizenships and full recognition of personal property rights.
