painfully little about vietnam in this partisan attack on powell. Any military man of that era would be open to those charges. Its not like he supported or defended Calley at Mai Lai.

Whether he did anything bad during Vietnam or not, it doesn't matter.......we do know he sold out this country for Bush's invasion of Iraq. I don't know if you remember....but late 2002/early 2003, the country was not convinced invading Iraq was the best way to go. Many wanted to wait to see what Blix had to say about WMDs in Iraq. Bush/Cheney were desperate to get that reversed. So they sent Powell to the UN. Of all of the Bush neos, Powell had the most credibility. Using British intel, he said Saddam was developing bio warfare in bio trucks. He showed satellite photos to prove his point. It sounded convincing to a skeptical population. After all, Powell wouldn't lie to us. However, he did. The Brits met with him just before he was to speak to the UN and told him they did not think the trucks were being used for bio warfare; that their intel did not support such a claim. He ignored them. As it turned out, the Brits were right and Powell was wrong. I will never forgive him for pulling that stunt. After his UN speech, the polls were in favor of invasion and the rest is history.
