Then what would you say is a "flight to quality?" Don't forget that history always repeats itself. When the dollar crashes too, (and how long do you think that will take, there wasn't a flight from the stock market to the bonds, smart money has to go somewhere) then what will have value, when paper is worthless? The dollar is what the whole world looks to right now as the stable currancy, the world certainly reacted overnight to the DOW sell off, and they will react to the bond slide too. Then what will they buy? Mines are closing all over the world, and soon gold will be harder to get, the CB's can't loan it forever, do you realize how the supply is being manipulated? Producers are borrowing from CB's to meet sales, but as they aren't producing, they can't pay back with gold can they? And this Swiss thing last week, carefully timed erroneous release...the Swiss never said sell, it may be that they plan to loan as well, and the amount was misquoted too, and it won't take affect until 1999, and it takes an ammendment to the constitution! I go on a bit, and I apologize, but this is a good time, and a cheap time, to aquire a core position in metals. For those interested, go to "At a bottom now for GOld" thread, from there you can get other good links, KITCO is a good place to hang out. On a Coke note, I don't see it dropping much further, it was already off, I think it will hold above 52. Brian
