You know I probably was against gay marriage 30 year ago; then a guy named Smith was transferred to our office in USAID Washington (USAID was an independent govt agency under the US State Dept.). State wanted him out of State because he was a confirmed homosexual. However, he had won a court case and they were unable to fire him. Somehow state got him transferred to USAID.

He told me no one could compromise him since he admitted to being gay; but someone might be able to compromise a married man with a set-up girl. Sounded right to me. He was a good co-worker and probably changed my views a lot. Now I could care less about that kind of stuff ; if a person is a good soul, and is trying that is all that counts.

It sounds like you have seen this from the other side and it has been hard; best to you for your struggle; i hope most people do not judge you on the wrong concerns.
