So what?

The folks that you were remarking about ["Most slaves came from Africa. The Africans themselves sold their OWN people into slavery."] ain't no Spring chickens EITHER. <g>

In fact, they are considerably further back in time then the people I referred to in my reply: What about the children who were born into slavery?

Correct me if I've come away from your remark with the wrong impression of it... but it seemed like you were (to some degree) justifying, or minimizing the evil of slavery by saying that "Africans sold their own people..." (actually, big roles were played by Arab slave traders, or later the Portuguese, etc.)

But that avoids any discussion of CHILDREN (sometimes several generations of progeny) who found themselves unlucky enough to be born into slavery... surely they had done nothing to be cursed with permanent servitude?
