It shouldn't be too much to ask. After all, Intel's technology is so great that they shouldn't need to jump through hoops with crazy, NDA'ed discount schedules and rebates to get wins, right?

And yet they fight against this tooth & nail...

JCB, I think I'm more bothered by the political angle of this EU decision than by the merits of the antitrust case.

AMD has always made a lot of PR over competing on merit, yet it is clear to me that they are playing a political game. They made gains with Opteron all on its own merit, but now they're trying to make gains by suing.

And they have a sympathetic ear in one authoritarian biotch ...

Whoa. You don't understand the semi industry if you think one processor is just like the other. Intel DOES publish a standard discount schedule. So does everyone else, and they price according to what Intel has to offer. We ain't sellin' toilet paper here (and even that is heavily marketed as to differentiation).
