Just a statement of truth. Castro has a history of persecuting gays. For some reason this doesn't mar his golden image with leftwingers.

I think this is the sort of thing that causes Tenchu et al to think that they 'win' so many of these discussions. Through out something it isn't related, pretend it is a zinger, high fives all around, celebrate and go home victorious. Leaving everyone else wondering "what just happened?"...
