Agree....Jack Bauer and 24 is probably the only program we consistently watch together. It is a good show, certainly in comparison to the majority of programs these days. The author forgot to mention the heros of Star Trek and Star Wars...and he did touch on a few but certainly not all of the Westerns that many of us grew up with. Heros are good and needed today.

Tonight as we speak, there are over 200 soldiers from Fort Lewis in Washington, looking for a fellow soldier that tipped over in a kayak in a roaring river. They are all heros in my mind. And so are the people who seek to find children and women who have disappeared or are lost. The author hit the nail on the head when he mentioned this below:

We now live in a country where the brave men and women who've sacrificed to protect the people and ideals of this nation have become targeted for terror profiling by the very government they've put their lives on the line to protect.

I used to think Jack Bauer's world was but a twisted version of our own. These days, I'm afraid our world is starting to look like Jack's.
