Obama's popularity numbers are basically at the same level GW's were at the same time during his first term. Personal popularity doesn't dictate policy. You can absolutely love the guy and despise a particular policy initiative. Obama's policies of spend and tax, vs tax and spend are largely unpopular. Do you think if a vote were conducted Americans would support the government bailing out union Big Three car members? Of course not. That's just one example. There are many others, including CAFE standards and enhanced interrogation techniques. Americans don't support his positions and it's starting to take a toll. America is finding out Team Obama is more radically left than they imagined. He is not governing from the "Center" the way many believed he would.
