Akidron,
Actually,this would be the ideal time for AMAT to announce a stock buy back as the stock drops below $25-30. They would be getting
the stock back at about 50c on the dollar from where it split, basically
a 2x proposition. They could easily buy back 20M shares
which would cost about $500M and still have $700M in the
bank for other uses. Of course, they would buy back at lower levels
also. A buy back for AMAT would stabilize the price in a trading
range, and act as a base for the next run up.
