I have noticed similar things about the Economist... but then, also true about many mainstream publications... once it makes it in print, it is generally the for the moment peak.

I am not sure why that is, except perhaps, you run out of people to pile in... the last ones are those who read the mass market periodicals.

Funny business, this investing.

Imbalances, distortions and how the world will reassert itself. Try this: blow air inside a balloon. Hold it with your thumb and indicator fingers. While you hold it, pressure is contained.

Then let it go. The balloon takes off moving violently and erratically.

The air inflated balloon is OECD capital hogging.

The thumb and indicator fingers are the G-7 and the nerve impulse telling to hold it is the Bretton Woods and international finance of the past 60 years.

The colorful nice balloon is the American Dream, Germany's Wirtschaftwunder and the Japanese miracle

The removing of the fingers is called globalization.

The air coming off the balloon is called capital spreading more evenly.

The balloon taking off moving violently, erratically in a totally unpredicted manner is called TEOTWAWKI.

As I told you before: I can explain the most complex cases using simple examples that even a child can understand.
