well Metacomet if thats what SS is, then it needs to be means tested. Absolutely. The problem is "program creep". So many people believe that it is a retirement program and do nothing else in their lifetimes to prepare, the pols have allowed benefits to get out of hand. rather than educating people, they have allowed the program to become mischaracterized and unsustainable. The fact that the receipts are spent for bullshit things like Halliburton contracts doesn't help.
