I am much more understanding of dental bills now that my son is in dental school

Another "Guild" situation. They restrict the number of Dentists, and don't let foreign Dentists in. People near the Mexican border van down in groups for dental work. Google it to see what it's like.

My sister lived in Europe for awhile and her first observation was the horrible condition of everyone's teeth. Evidently dental care is very low on the priority list, or there just aren't many dentists. Social medical care must not cover dentistry or those conditions wouldn't exist.

I think we're in for the same thing here if medical care is govt run.

plus you have to join a group of dentists or start up your own partnership. Either way i assume the initial investment is another thirty year mortgage.

I still remember the dental surgeon who did my canal job back in 60's. He had the living room in a large house perhaps built around 1900 outside Boston. the damage was done due to auto accident with my family as passenger. Not a pretty site. He was crying on my shoulder every visit and trying to get me to pay for my sister's work vs wait for settlement from my insurance. He kept complaining about having to pay back his mom a very large sum of money.

I never did go back to him to get the cap put on. It was too painful to listen to him cry about his financial situation. Twenty five years later i got the cap put on. I guess he wasn't the only person short of cash.
