Ted, where exactly did you live? South Central L.A.? East Hollywood? The barrios of East L.A.?

Highland Park. That's where the breakins occurred. But all the other incidents took place in good neighborhoods......Los Feliz, Miracle Mile, Hancock Park.....the fires were 5 blocks east of Hancock Park. The rioters were repelled just on the border of Beverly Hills. It took LAPD helping Beverly Hills PD to make it happen.

I remember my wife's car being broken into ... twice. Within a week. The first time was OK; I'm like, "Well that's south central L.A. for you." But the second time really got me angry, since this time nothing was stolen but the same window which was just fixed was broken. What's the point of that?

That's what you don't get.......its an attitude that I came face to face with after the riots.....and was only made worse by the earthquake.

The difference between me and you is that I recognized this was a local problem with the neighborhood, not a statewide problem. There's plenty of spillover, for sure, but CA is a huge state and it's not my fault if you happened to be in the epicenter of the L.A. ghettos.

LOL. Yup. I'm in the Puget Sound and I am not sure I got far enough away. S. CA gangs are very active these days in Seattle and Portland.

BTW see much graffiti around the OC?
