Ditto. Agree 100%. I read the essay in the New Atlantis, planning to get the book. The guy seems to have his head screwed on right.

He strikes me as a modern day Robert Pirsig (less nutty than Pirsig also).

The high school where my kids went formerly had a shop program where the students actually built a house and sold it for a profit. The shop program teaches discipline, organization, problem solving, math, and motor skills that you can't get any other way.

Now they don't have the program. They have to spend time on gender identification classes. What a tragedy.
