I identified a flaw in the premise right/wrong and explained why such a judgement would be amiss. Arguing the merits of each position is very doable but I was asked to compare them on a different measure, one which I don't believe is valid.

I don't speak for the right wing. I speak only for myself, as always, which is why I get banned as quickly from rw extremist sites as I do from lw extremist threads.

WR, > "Name just one major issue of the 20th century where the conservatives were right and the liberals were wrong"

Liberals thought the federal deficit had to be solved by raising taxes.

It took a Republican Congress and a lot of partisan gridlock to keep spending reigned in, which eventually balanced the budget.

Of course, no liberal will EVER admit to that, since they all believe the myth that it was Clinton who did it ...

It is a silly question to try to answer, because the answer depends on the views of the observer.

Conservatives will agree that their position on abortion is correct.

Liberals will argue otherwise.

Conservatives will say a strong and costly defense is essential and liberals otherwise.

And so on.
