It is as equal as "separate but equal". You are free to defend such equality- but it will fall, one way or another. You would do well to think about the lessons history teaches us when it comes to denying minorities true equality.

You seem to have missed Lane's point, and mine, about how in the current some people are free to marry the people they love (provided they are both otherwise unencumbered, meet the age requirements, etc.) while other's aren't.

Her question, and mine too, was "How is that equal treatment under the law?" And my additional question is, "How is that identical treatment?"
