When I lived in Northern Virginia I used to park my car and put in my kayak at Colombia Island Marina to fish the Potomac. It happened to be the local hot spot for anonymous sex in the bushes. People were fornicating all over the place but I never saw any of it or had a problem with anyone, one hard look is all it takes to make people keep their distance.

Whether that kind of behavior is legal or illegal has very little to do with where/if it it occurs ... generally what keeps a society civil is the unwillingness of the citizens to tolerate an uncivil society.

Even if we abolished all statutes relating to sexual behavior (other than those involving children), how people behaved in public would not change, because misbehavior in public carries the risk of a serious beating. It is that threat, rather than the threat of getting arrested, that dissuades people from fornicating in public.

Your imagination says more about you than it does about what I would tolerate. What people do in privacy is no concern of mine,as long as they are NOT hurting anything when they do it, and children are in no way involved.

I don't know how you got from my "what's the harm in private bestiality" to people fornicating in the streets. I'm for order in public. How you ever thought I was not is beyond me. I've never said anything, anywhere, to lead anyone to believe I approve of even PDA's- I don't like to see heterosexual people OR homosexual people even sucking face in PUBLIC. To me, all sex is a private matter, and whatever you do (as long as it doesn't hurt anyone or any animal or involve children) is none of my business.

Your leap to what you might see in the public square involves your own fantasies, and nothing I have said. Heterosexual people are allowed to marry and mate with approval- and yet they mostly manage to refrain from bumping uglies in the public square. I'd like to see that continue- and it should be applied to all and sundry who are not hetero. That's what public decency laws are for- and I like those. I just don't see what it matters what you, or my neighybors, do in private to gratify their sexual desires. If you have something logical to say on that, which actually addresses the topic, feel free.
