Reminds me of the northeast blackout in 2003. The power grid can't be upgraded either for the same reasons you mentioned.

It would be an interesting 'clash of the titans' if Obama did decide to use his new pet companies in this fashion. The parts would get made, but would any new rail systems actually get built?

One major problem in this country with high speed "bullet" trains is the cost of upgrading existing rail roadbeds or constructing new ones. The cost to have high speed capable rail lines "cris-crosing" the country would be phenomenal.

Amtrak has never operated without a government subsidy. Why does Mr. Moore think Obamarail would be any different?

The very same reasoning is why we haven't drilled a new oilwell in years....or opened new sites that are known to have oil.

Obama is pontificating about the value of his little green tinkertoy cars, but is only supporting solar and windmills for energy. Have we done a single thing about Natural Gas for automobiles? Or have we done anything about Clean Coal? Or are we going to build a new nuclear plant anytime this century?

Maybe he thinks that his plan to increase the gasoline for autos to $4 or more per gallon isn't being noticed right now....He's wrong. Problem is, by the time people start to notice, it will be a 'done deal.'

Gibbs is muzzling the press, and none of the invited ones are seeming to even care about that. Obama picks who is invited, what the questions are that will be asked, and then picks who it is who will ask those planted questions.

Here's a small problem: the hairshirt environmental lobby, you know the one that Obama is in hock to, absolutely forbids all major construction projects.
