I will give you credit for being fair on this one, because i used boies and tribe as strawmen expecting an inode type discourse on why they were not accepatable.

I don't like either of them in terms of ideology, but I would not support blocking them if he had appointed them.

Most conservatives oppose the concept of judicial activism, and I hold that view as well. I do believe the president has the prerogative.

But I also think that it is time the Rs quit rubber stamping appointments as they did under Clinton, only to have the Ds fight every appointment tooth and nail.

Obama's opposition to Roberts was unconscionable. Unconscionable. Alito, as well -- these were two of the best qualified individuals in my memory. And frankly, so was Bork.

So, if the Rs want to drag her through the mud, I'm down with it. In the end, she's going to be on the Court. The Ds want political, I say give them political.

I would extend this to the Democrats' unforgivable behavior in the John Tower incident, as well. The man was totally qualified and was borked just as surely as Robert Bork himself was.

(I will remind you that on this thread I opposed Myers from the outset, and was irate about it. )

Who with creds on the left do you think is out of the mainstream.

I don't think it matters what their "views" are as long as they are qualified.

Did you support all clinton appointees?

Reluctantly, yes. I really beleive that the President should get his picks as long as they are qualified picks. Elections have consequences.
