Coincidence does not *prove* causation.

(That is a much harder task in statistical analysis. All potentially confounding externalities must be eliminated first....)

HOWEVER... consider the starting date for the market reversal.

(What ELSE was happening in that period, BIG ENOUGH to trigger the major reversal?)

Perhaps it was something on American Idol? Or the phase of the Moon? <GGG>
