I don't think modern medicine knows this enough for it to be something that gives any "glory". Its much better than it was in the past, but there are still a lot of problems in this area. That's most esp. true if your considering cost effectiveness, but its even true if you just consider whether many treatments really produce a net benefit independent of the monetary cost.
