since there is good demand for nurses and they are paid quite well relative to their education requirements, why do you think there are not more nurses? i have been hearing about the nurse shortage for years. you would think people would flock to a job where they can actually make 100K or better in a steady job (instead of theoretically making 100K as a realtor but actually making nothing).

maybe people are too lazy? or not smart enough? too squeamish? too much stigma against male nurses so the pool is largely limited to females? what gives?

this seems like it would be a good career choice for a lot of unemployed/underemployed people. especially men if they can swallow their pride.
