That is exactly my feeling. Newt has a minuscule amount of baggage compared to, say, Bill Clinton, George Bush, Barack Obama, or any number of politicians.

I think Newt is electable, and I hope he runs.

Yes he has baggage

During Newts time as Speaker I was stationed overseas and didn't track the ebb and flow of congress. I'm aware of Newts nasty divorce from his previous wife but surely that's nothing more than a carry on item. I got the impression that he was a competent Speaker....... What other baggage is he carrying that I'm not aware of that would make him a poor choice as a leader?
