Aw...back to the good old days of land-owning men being the only ones with the vote. It did keep the rabble in line. <g>

Wasn't the plan of the founders to keep the rabble-dominated lower house under control by the upper chamber, with their six year terms and election not by the people, but by the state legislatures?
