Yes, they paid State Tax, they can vote. Any Federal Tax counts, airline tickets, phone excise taxes, doesn't matter and it all comes down to how much was actually paid.

Well, people pay sales tax, gas tax, all kinds of tax even if they don't pay federal income tax.

Yes, people who earn money do. They also pay taxes.

So, should they be able to vote in state elections if they can prove they paid State tax on buying food?

Which states charge tax on food purchases?

If they pay Federal Gas Tax, could they vote? Or Federal taxes on airline tickets? Or on thousands of other things. Or is it just Income Tax that you would use as a guide?


If they earned the income they used to make those purchases, it should have been taxed already.

I think your plan may have a few flaws on the "taxation without representation" front.

I don't see any glitches or flaws in his plan. Just make a flat tax on all income. No "earned income credit" should be given for having babies.
