Meteoric rise off the bottom, combined with the traditional "sell in May and go away". The washout was excessive and the rebound had been the same, imo, too far, too fast. The longer term estimates in the sector have been improving substantially but the short term isn't that rosy. For example, the SOX forward eps estimates for next fiscal year (NFY) have gone up 55% since April 1st. The combined rise in the SOX and the rising of the estimates have reduced the forward PE for NFY from 46 to 35 since April 1.

I don't think its a coincidence that May 1st was the top in many of the semi charts.
