That's not the point.

The point is that there is an incompetent policy that massively increases the cost of claim handling for no value, whatsoever.

This is characteristic of government programs and it precisely the reason we don't need government running health care.

No private insurer would do this; they realize that every claim they process costs money, and to have people resubmitting perfectly clean claims for no reason at all is a waste of money and they wouldn't do it.

True, private insurers are more apt to deny a claim for some minor item that is not covered under the insured's contract -- but that is because Medicare is simply unable to cope with the regulations under which it operates.

As a result, treatments that should be paid are denied by Medicare time and again without cause or explanation -- adding cost of administering the program.

Medicare's administration cost-- when adjusted to put it on equal footing with private insurance companies-- is the same as private insurers. But given their scale they should be able to SAVE administrative costs. Why can't they? Because of these kinds of incompetence.
