You want us to start posting for-profit medical horror stories? How about these two, from my experience:

1. A buddy of mine was in a car accident, broke an arm, a leg and his pelvis. He was in the hospital for six weeks in a body cast. I visited him once a week.

Just as his casts came off, a little nurse came to help him crutch his way down to physical therapy - his muscles had atrophied. She led him out onto a just-mopped floor outside his room, he fell and re-broke his pelvis! He sued for enough money to buy a cabin in New Hampshire.

2. My mom was in the hospital for heart surgery. A diabetic, she was given 10X the amount of insulin she should have been by a nurse. Fortunately, her doctor walked in while this was happening, caught the mistake, and pumped her full of glucose to counteract it, otherwise, she'd have died. I tried to get her to do it, but she wouldn't sue.
