You and I agree on a lot of stuff. We're from the same general era and we've seen good and bad policy. We can recognize leaders and losers... and we know good times and bad times, and can imagine worse. A lot of these folks are living an illusion, and can't imagine worse. ROTFLMAO. We've been labeled liberals endlessly when we think of ourselves as pragmatists Oh, yeah. Labeled liberals unjustifiably. After all, liberals aren't the guys who think government has great solutions for everything (including, but not limited to, taking over 1/6 of our economy); liberals aren't the ones who think 2 trillion dollars deficits are okay; liberals don't believe that you can negotiate with tyrants. Right? Every day I create commerce, people buying and selling goods and making profits and my customers creating end user value and satisfaction. Yet, for some reason, you need government to take care of you and don't mind the confiscation of your hard-earned money to do it. You're all about rugged individualism, right? Adults (pragmatists) are in charge. Yep. The most inexperienced, incompetent president in history. Adults are in charge my ass.

"We are policy wonks. " That's the problem. The righties here don't care about policy, it is all about ideology. For them, policy is immaterial because government can't work. So why bother?

The nightmare is probably over. Adults (pragmatists) are in charge. The far right folks on this thread are remnants of a bygone era... time to wish them the best and sign off I think. They are totally inconsequential. (As a political junkie I may or may not live up to that resolution). Battles will be won or lost, but the war is over. The Neo's are forever vanquished. I think. I feel much the same way you do but I am not as sure that the neos are forever vanquished. They are doing a very good job I've staying alive.
